Forces of Fashion Ended With a Lovely Vogue100 Lunch Hosted by Hailey Bieber and Tabitha Simmons

After a day and a half of back-to-back fashion-centric panel discussions, Forces of Fashion came to a close on Friday. But if the stylish whirlwind had to end, at least it was done so with Hailey Bieber, who presided over a Vogue100 lunch at Spring Studios alongside Vogue contributing fashion editor and shoe designer Tabitha Simmons.

Just after Anna Wintour and Donatella Versace’s talk came to a close, the Vogue100 members congregated in a dining room within the venue’s design-friendly restaurant. The room was filled with vibrant clusters of clementine-colored dahlias. A vitrine which usually houses elegant coffee table books was filled with fancy footwear courtesy of Simmons. Fresh off a plane from Los Angeles in a slick alligator jacket by Tom Ford (a Forces of Fashion panelist on day one), Bieber glided into the room. She admitted she was sad to have missed the discussions, but no matter, the lunch would allow her a full recap as it was all anyone wanted to talk about. But despite her missing out, Bieber had several things to celebrate. Just a week after her wedding (in case you missed her dress, here you go) in South Carolina, she was featured in Vogue’s October issue—a home on the range-y story that features Bieber traipsing on Jackson, Wyoming, dirt roads in Americana denim and fringe. It’s a story that, per Vogue’s Willow Lindley, will inspire you to “cancel your plans and fly out to the country.” The story was styled by Simmons, who gushed over the newlywed: “I’ve been on 6:00 a.m. call times with her, and on set for hours together. I can not only call her my muse, but I feel like I can also call you my friend.”

To that, Bieber rose to let the crowd know the feelings were indeed mutual. “We go back over six years; Tabitha was the first person to ever style me for Vogue magazine.... I love her so much; I’m the biggest Tabitha fan.” (She might have some competition—a quick scan of the room’s shoes revealed many Tabitha Simmons creations!)

After roasted eggplant, burrata salad, and macaron dessert bites, the time had come for everyone to part ways. Until next year!
