See Inside Gwyneth Paltrow’s Montecito Guest House

Have you ever dreamed of living like Gwyneth Paltrow? Then boy, do we have some news for you.

The wellness mogul is offering her Montecito guest house on Airbnb for a one-night-only stay on September 9. While only one (or two) lucky individuals will get to experience it in person—which includes a very on-brand gift basket of Goop products and a welcome from Gwyneth herself(!)—everyone can enjoy the listing photos of the home.

The one-bedroom house looks straight out of a Nancy Meyers movie: a sterling steel Monogram stove with yellow knobs offers a pop of color within an all-white kitchen, while a bathroom is almost completely covered in luxurious marble. A dining table is accented by fuzzy shearling chairs, and the living room features a Southern California-meets-Swiss chalet sofa with a rounded cream exterior. The bedroom, meanwhile, features a color-blocked bedspread.

And that’s just the inside: the exterior includes an al fresco dining area, an outdoor stove, wicker daybeds meant for lounging, and a crystalline indoor pool. “My Montecito home is my sanctuary for respite and mental clarity,” Paltrow writes in her Airbnb listing blurb. “I go there to recharge, to daydream about what we’re building at Goop, and to reconnect with my family and treasured friends. Whether you’re seeking a place for unexpected connection or for well-deserved solitude and reflection, when you come to stay, I hope you’ll get as much joy out of the home as I do.”

The idyllic retreat is designed by Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch of Roman and Williams, who also did Paltrow’s main house. “A home should reflect the physicality and ethos of its owner, and this house takes its cues from Gwyneth’s height, beauty, and focus on distillation,” Standefer previously told Architectural Digest about the project. “You see it in the tall bones, the attenuated proportions, the radiused corners, and the slender molding profiles.”

Meanwhile, fellow critically acclaimed interior designer Brigette Romanek helped Paltrow, a self-proclaimed “furniture obsessive,” with some of the decor. “Gwyneth was more interested in substance than style per se,” Romanek told Architectural Digest. “Yes, it had to be pretty, but she was most concerned with things like mood and movement.”
