The Glass House Hosted Its Annual Summer Party with Martha Stewart and More

After a smog-filled week on the East Coast, the sun finally came out to play for The Glass House s annual summer party. This isn’t your average soirée. Think of it more as a chic collision of art, fashion, and entertainment. In addition to the tunes played by DJ Alexandra Richards and the drinks provided by Hennessy Paradis, guests—like Martha Stewart—enjoyed artistic dance performances by Company SBB, a shopping pop-up by sponsor Max Mara, and an alfresco dining experience across the 49-acre lawn in New Canaan, Connecticut.
“The Glass House has always been a place for creative experimentation,” Scott Drevnig, deputy director at The Glass House, explained during opening remarks. “And this legacy endures today as we welcome the community to celebrate art, design, landscape, and architecture on our site.”
This year, the work of contemporary artist Derrick Adams was highlighted through a limited-edition sculpture created especially for the festivities. The celebrated work of art titled “Cool Down Pop” used the colors of the Pan-African flag. “By interpreting and preserving our site with a pluralistic lens, we inform the consciousness of our visitors,” explained Omar Eaton-Martinez, senior vice president for historic sites at The National Trust for Historic Preservation. “Which will enable all Americans to see their history around them—and more importantly—to see the humanity in each other.”
What’s most important: Attendees were given the opportunity to bid on more than 100 works of art in a silent auction by Artsy. See all of the exciting moments ahead.
