After 10 Years, Isabel Marant Returned To L.A. With A Dinner Party
Ever so often, the Los Angeles crowd settles on a new (or old, but revived) spot to covet, guaranteed to be a hit destination for private dinners or celebrity sightseeing for weeks or months to come. Right now, it’s Sunset Boulevard’s old Hollywood-esque Chateau Marmont, where Isabel Marant hosted an intimate dinner Thursday night, celebrating both the brand’s 30th anniversary and its first return to Los Angeles in ten years.
While most events of the like happen up in the hotel’s penthouse, Marant opted for a poolside experience, a winding, cobblestone walkway leading guests through European-style arches to unveil a long, candle-lit table tucked away in a private spot on the property. A purple “Isabel Marant” sign just above where The Marías would later perform during dinner offered the space a moody glow.
In attendance were a handful of models, actors and the like, with people such as Kate Bosworth, Justin Long, Laura Harrier, Amine, Ashley Graham, Gabbriette in there to greet the designer from Paris. Once at their seats, it was Graham who started an unboxing trend, encouraging everyone to take a peek inside the branded gift bag they each would’ve found at either seat upon arriving (as it would have it, everyone left with one of the brand’s iconic Oskan Moon bags).
Dinner was served family-style—a watermelon radish salad, followed by spicy tuna tartare, roasted salmon, and chicken before brownie bites were delivered to round it all out. Rather than beelining straight home afterward, most of the table stayed back for a subsequent dance party as more invitees quickly filed in to join them.
