After the engagement, the two quickly settled on a destination for their wedding: Maui. “Coincidentally, Dylan and I both grew up going to Maui every year with our families,” Jade says. “My fondest childhood memories are from these trips, and Dylan and I learned shortly after we started dating that it was a really sentimental and meaningful place for both of us.” They started going on vacation there as a couple and fell in love with it all over again. “I remember sitting in the hotel pool when I was a kid and watching people get married there, and quite honestly I decided on the venue then, 20-something years before I was even engaged,” Jade explains. “Luckily, Dylan felt the same way and there was never a question for either of us—it was by far the easiest decision of the entire planning process.”

Next, they began the search for an event planner—and when they met with Jeffrey Best and his team, they immediately knew they were in the right hands. “For better or for worse, my vision for the wedding weekend was crystal clear even before we started planning, and I knew with certainty exactly how I wanted our wedding to look and more importantly, to feel,” Jade says. “Jeffrey and his team took a normally stressful process and turned it into a celebration, putting so much care into every little moment and executing beyond our wildest imaginations.”

On the first day of the wedding, Jade and Dylan hosted guests for a “night swim” welcome party at the hotel. “We encouraged everyone to wear bathing suits and cover-ups so they could jump in with us,” Jade, who opted for an Alaïa two-piece sequin set with Bottega Veneta earrings, says. “We wanted this first night to get everyone loose and comfortable and say their long-lost hellos before really kicking off the weekend.”

Jade wanted the rehearsal dinner the next night to feel unconventional, a little weird, and in her words, like “an excellent mushroom trip.” They strung miles of different colored tulle, garlands made of flowers, and fringe from the ceiling to create this multi-textured, immersive, and colorful décor explosion. Wearing white at a colorful rehearsal dinner like this one felt almost sacrilegious to Jade, so instead, she went with a rainbow fringe Ashish dress. “I fell in love with it the second I saw it,” she explains. “It looked like it was made for our rainbow rehearsal dinner.”

Jade’s eldest brother, Jamie, emceed the event and a lineup of the couple’s favorite people gave speeches. “We wept with laughter and winced with anticipation at the well-deserved public roasting,” the bride notes. “Then, to honor my Italian roots, the tarantella came on and servers came piling in from all different directions with trays filled with shots and every light-up accessory you can think of: flower crowns, cowboy hats, necklaces, rings for everyone to wear to get the dance party started. We danced the night away with reckless abandon.”

The ceremony took place the next day at Molokini Lookout, with the bride wearing a custom Galia Lahav dress with Aquazzura heels. “I’ve never paid too much attention to people’s wedding dresses,” Jade admits. “Sure, I’d seen beautiful ones that were perfect for the bride wearing it, but, maybe because wedding dresses don’t typically look like the sweatpants I wear every day, I never saw a dress that I, myself, would like to wear one day.”
