Jennifer Coolidge Is the Queen of Hollywood Bombshell Style

“Hi.” Jennifer Coolidge may be known for her comedic timing—especially with her roles in The White Lotus, Legally Blonde, or my personal favorite, as Fiona in A Cinderella Story—but when it comes to red carpet dressing, the star is serious about her dedication to bombshell style. And in honor of her 63rd birthday today, Vogue is taking a look back at why Coolidge’s enduring fashion sense is so one-of-a-kind.
Over the years, Coolidge has consistently stuck to a vampy wardrobe that’s all about tight, bodycon dressing. (She didn’t play Stifler’s mom in American Pie for nothing!) It makes sense that much of Coolidge’s Hollywood roles have revolved around her being hot, because off-screen, Coolidge has always leaned into silhouettes that equally dial up the sensuality.
Lately, that’s included loads of fitted Dolce Gabbana numbers—whether short and in black lace, or long and covered in sequins. Her body-skimming, off-the-shoulder gowns always hug her in all the right ways—and prove that you don’t need a flashy print or bold color to make a statement. It’s not to say Coolidge has been one-note in her approach to the step and repeat, though. Coolidge has also experimented with more of a bohemian flair recently, choosing caftan-like silhouettes or ruffled hemlines that add a playfulness to her looks. (Take her ruffled black Etro gown at the 2023 Emmys.)
All of this is to say: At 63, nobody is mastering a focused wardrobe quite like Coolidge. Whereas other Hollywood stars ebb and flow with the latest fashion trends, Coolidge has refreshingly stuck to her guns, always pulling designs that dial up the sex appeal. But a demure sex appeal. A mindful sex appeal. And to that we say, keep it coming.
