Nordstrom and Missoni Headed East to the Hamptons to Celebrate a New Collection

On Saturday evening, designers, stylists, and executives from around the fashion industry gathered at East Hampton’s Sunset Harbor to celebrate Missoni’s upcycled collection created exclusively for Nordstrom. For a brief moment, it felt like guests were in the often-rainy city of Seattle, which is home to Nordstrom’s headquarters. But the momentary torrential down-pour subsided just in time for attendees to play a few rounds of bean bag toss with Missoni-printed cornholes before enjoying a sunset dinner along Three Mile Harbor in East Hampton.
“I’m so thrilled that you all are with us today to celebrate the upcycled, exclusive Missoni collection for Nordstrom," Rickie De Sole, women’s fashion director at Nordstrom, elaborated in her welcoming remarks. “I am a city girl who loves to wear all-black, but in the summer, Missoni comes out.”
The Italian label’s iconic, prismatic prints were worn by several guests, and even the dinner plates and candles were adorned with Missoni’s signature zig-zag patterns. Like both family-run companies, guests indulged in a five-course meal served family style after Giacomo Missoni, CEO and president of Missoni USA and Canada, shared a few words. “It’s an honor to be here tonight to celebrate with you all this limited-edition capsule,” Giacomo Missoni told his guests, which included Cynthia Rowley, Julia von Boehm, and more. “We took fabric that was once deadstock and brought it back to life through this collection. I want to be an example to the fashion world to repurpose waste and discard less.”
