On the Road With Grammy Nominee Victoria Monét
If you don’t know Victoria Monét’s name yet, you definitely know her work. The singer-songwriter has penned hits for everybody from Chloe x Halle to Ariana Grande— including “7 Rings” and Thank U, Next”—and while she’s released music as a solo artist since 2014, it was only this past summer that Monét properly introduced herself with Jaguar II, her much-anticipated debut album. The project earned her a total of seven nominations at the forthcoming Grammy Awards, including best R&B album and record of the year (for her viral hit “On My Mama”).
“I feel like I haven’t actually woken up—I’m very much still in a dream state,” she recently told Vogue. “It means the absolute world to me to be at this beautiful point in my career. A long-awaited point, but hopefully not the peak!”
Judging by her Grammy nod for best new artist, Monét’s star has only just begun to rise. If you couldn’t snag a ticket to her sold-out Jaguar Tour, which wrapped in Brazil last month, here she shares exclusive snapshots from her life on the road. Take a look behind the scenes.
