You might think that summer is the only time to experiment with the print, but this fall’s runways were chock-full of polka dots. Polka-dot-printed fashion is about as iconic as it comes, but we’ve seen a new resurgence of the timeless favorite, sprinkled throughout the fall 2023 designer collections (many of which are in stores now), making it a great time to test out the trend for the season.
Marni’s Tokyo show brought the pattern front and center, featured on everything from knitwear, to structured shift shapes, and even an oversized puffer coat. Miu Miu sent sheer, ladylike pencil skirts, dreamy dresses, and unbuttoned blouses, all covered with the tiny dots, down the Paris runway, whereas Pierpaolo Piccioli took a tailored approach at Valentino to his signature silhouettes, with a medley of graphic spots on slouchy blazers and sheer blouses, solidifying this as a trend for the fall season.
When it comes to styling your own, you can never go wrong with classic black, white, and navy (which transition well to a fall wardrobe).
