The Best Moments (So Far) From Kate and Will’s Royal Visit to India
While the rest of us commoners were refreshing our Instagram feeds and suffering from Sunday Sadness, Princess Kate and Prince William arrived in India yesterday and quickly began enchanting the country with their staggering God-given charm. Their Royal Highnesses’ whistle-stop, seven-day visit to India and Bhutan marks their first visit to the countries and their first royal tour in two years. (Who can forget the great Australia trip of 2014? Prince George, then just a 9-month-old dumpling, joined his parents; this time, the royal babies remained home.)
“When Catherine and I were married, India was the first place on Catherine’s list that she told me that she wanted to visit,” Prince William said in a speech last night at Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. “Two children and five years later, we have finally made it.” True to form, Princess Kate and Prince William are packing their latest adventure with an eclectic mix of diplomacy, glittery red carpets, and awkward dancing.
