Roger Vivier and Sara Story Celebrate the New Viv Choc Bag

Inside the interior designer Sara Story’s epic Gramercy Park-facing home, a group of fans and friends of the brand Roger Vivier came together to celebrate the label’s first-ever daytime bag: the Viv Choc.
“Fashion doesn t have to be serious,” Story told Vogue of the event while wearing a pair of glittering crystal-ball heels from Roger Vivier and a metallic purple dress. “It can be playful and whimsical and magical, and really, I feel like so much right now seems so serious in the world, and it s nice to get some pleasure and fantasy and fashion.” Misty Copeland, Chloe Flower, Ivy Getty, Jane Keltner de Valle, and more gathered for champagne in Story’s living room as friends old and new all chatted and caught up.
The event was all about celebrating the new bag and Story’s brand new book, The Art of Home–and Story’s interiors served as the perfect setting to present the new, lush, and puffy design. The Viv Choc was concocted with a little inspiration from Vivier’s iconic ‘Choc’ heel designed in 1959. Its draping, chain strap, turnkey lock, and puffed-up sculptural leather, much like Story’s work, has everything to do with reinterpreting the every day into an artful wonder of whimsy. Comparing her interiors to her personal sense of style, Story mused, ”It’s about that tailored and detail-oriented energy and really paying attention to the materials and how it s all brought together. I think there s synergy in that.”
There were endless group photos and plenty of mirror selfies in Story’s well-lit abode. Setting the stage for a perfectly on-brand luncheon, guests made their way to a long pink table covered in freshly plucked peonies and decorative China. Followed by short speeches from Story and Roger Vivier CMO Stacie Henderson Capece Minutolo, the biggest fans of the brand raised their Viv Choc bags at the table in all shades of burgundy, jet black, tan, and even denim.
A three-course meal was served, including an appetizer of goat cheese and beet salad, with a main course choice of herb-crusted chicken or ratatouille. Each guest was also gifted a copy of Story’s new book for endless inspiration. The lunch finished with a berry meringue, which perfectly matched the all-pink, ultra-feminine Roger Vivier aesthetic.
