Seventeen’s Mingyu Works Up a Sweat Before the Dior Show

For Mingyu’s first-ever Dior show, the Seventeen rapper wanted to keep it simple. “I went with the look that looks clean, subtle, and doesn’t stand out too much. This is my first time attending a Dior show, so I wanted to keep it understated,” he says. Mingyu opted for a lowkey outfit: a sleek navy suit worn over a rhinestone-embellished button-down. “I think it’s what elevates this look and really sets it apart. Such subtle details are what l appreciate the most about the look overall,” he adds.

But even with a (relatively) pared-down outfit, he’s still immediately clocked by his adoring fans, dubbed “CARATs.” And though he admittedly prefers more minimal style, don’t rule him out from trying bolder ’fits in the future. “I’m hoping to eventually try out different looks as more opportunities come by,” he says.

The K-Pop star is no stranger to fashion shows, and has his Paris Fashion Week routine down to a science. “I take a bath first, work out, and finish it off with a shower,” he says. “I try to work up a sweat as much as possible the morning of a show. It s a great way to start any day.” When he finds free time, the musician likes to venture off the beaten path. “I usually don’t have a set destination and just love to explore the small streets rather than visit the famous tourist spots,” he says. “I also like to talk to the locals who are [around my] age and ask them for recommendations on good cafes or their favorite spots.”
