The couple worked with Florida wedding specialist Zeiry Cortez Gomez of Events by Zeiry. “Our engagement was in December 2020 and by the time hiring a planner crossed our minds, we already had some of the big details set in stone,” Telsha says. “We were grateful to have discovered Zeiry and her partial planning services—with her help we were able to streamline every realistic and imaginary detail. Zeiry, Justin, and I passed along several texts and emails over the last few months featuring images from Pinterest or Instagram alongside random concepts we cultivated from scratch. Both Zeiry and her team recognized a need and executed with precision. We couldn’t have asked for a better group of women to handle our wedding or planning process.”

When it came to her wedding wardrobe, Telsha knew exactly what she wanted. Back in 2019, Danielle Hirsch of Danielle Frankel created a bridal design that caught her eye. “It was worn by Kelsey Asbille for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Cocktail Design Challenge, and I remember scrolling on Vogue.com and imagining myself in the dress, twirling around and showing off the pleats and the fabrication,” Telsha says. “Right then and there, I took a screenshot and placed it in my iPhone favorites for whenever the time would present itself. When we got engaged, I immediately knew who I’d be contacting and looking to wear for my big day. I booked an appointment online, sent a screenshot to Danielle’s team via email and crossed my fingers, hoping the dress would be buried in the back waiting on me.”

When Telsha arrived at her first fitting, the team at Danielle Frankel had her try on a few dresses before mentioning there was a surprise in the back. “I turned around, and there it was in full ivory/silk,” Telsha says. “The dress was so new the lace flowers hadn’t even been sewn on fully, but instead hung one by one with safety pins. I tried it on, started to dance around like I previously envisioned, and it was a done deal,” she says. “After the dress, everything else came together easily.” She wore a variety of rings from Spinelli Kilcollin and Tiffany Co., along with two sets of customized earrings from Bernard James. “It was a goal [of mine] to find a balance between traditional and non-traditional elements in my bridal look, and every brand chosen played a part in that,” Telsha says.

The bride’s hair was inspired by Rooney Mara’s look at the BFI London Film Festival. “It was important for me to pick a hairstyle with personality,” Telsha says, “that could hold up against the Miami humidity, and that would show off the dress properly. Thankfully I had an amazing bridal hair specialist, Martine Chery, the owner of Mon Cheri Hair Design. Martine took the remaining fabric from my dress and wrapped it around my hair with ease.” For makeup, she worked with Tijienene Gordon. “I’ve never had makeup last so long and perfectly,” Telsha says. “She was incredible! As for my nails, I only trust one person to do them, and that’s Miki from Akiko Nails New York City, and I got them done the day before we left to Miami. Building a team based in a different state, during quarantine, was hard but it couldn’t have worked out better.”
