Inside Tish Cyrus-Purcell and Dominic Purcell’s Wedding in Malibu

Last Saturday, Tish Cyrus and Dominic Purcell married at a small poolside ceremony in front of family and friends at her daughter Miley’s home in Malibu, California. The manager and producer first connected with the Prison Break actor via social media. “I slid into Dom’s DMs and the rest is history,” Tish explains. “It was love at first sight for both of us!”
The two got engaged over Thanksgiving last year. “Dom, along with Miley, planned the entire thing,” Tish remembers. “They knew we would all be together as a family and thought it would be the perfect time!” Tish later announced the engagement via Instagram in April, posting an image of her emerald cut ring with the caption: “A thousand times… yes.”
When it came time to plan the wedding, Tish was very hands-on. “I actually picked out everything myself,” the bride, who worked with coordinators Edgar Hayrapetyan and Pat Pedraja, says. “I knew exactly what I wanted and was very controlling of the entire process. I’m so happy with how it turned out. I wouldn’t change a thing!”
For her walk down the aisle, Tish wore a strapless white lace dress with an A-line skirt by Netta Benshabu, which she selected with the help of her stylist, Bradley Kenneth. “I actually couldn’t decide between two dresses, so I wore them both,” Tish explains. “The dress I wore at the ceremony was the most romantic dress I’ve ever seen. It truly felt like me. And most of all, it made me feel like I feel when I’m with Dom: beautiful. That’s how he makes me feel.”
Tish changed into the second dress—a silk look with spaghetti straps and a slit by Grace Loves Lace—for the reception. Dom opted for a white button-down and vintage slacks from a movie he just finished. “Dom has his own unique style, so I wanted whatever he wore to feel like him,” the bride shares. The bridesmaids wore ice blue dresses by Bec Bridge bridal and carried bouquets of white roses and baby’s breath. “With the ocean as our backdrop, I knew the dusty blue color would be stunning,” says Tish.
The entire day was about Tish and Dom’s love taking center stage, and as they said their vows with white rose petals strewn all around and guests looking on from across the pool, it was clear that had been achieved. “My whole life my mom has been behind the scenes,” Miley says. “She was always the one getting me ready for big days, starting with cheerleading competitions, then eventually on sets or backstage before a performance. She has never stopped celebrating me and has been so supportive of my decisions. I feel honored to be that person for her, now that I’m older.”
To that end, Miley walked her mother down the aisle. “To see my mom this happy and in love is very emotional for me,” she says. “Dom and my mom share the sweetest, most genuine love. It’s almost like it’s for the first time, which is so fitting for my mom who is such a young soul. Since they met, they both started aging in reverse. Somehow, my mom has gotten even more beautiful. The day was as special and magical as they are. To stand beside my mother and give her away to Dom is a moment I will cherish for the rest of my life.”
“It was like I was in a fairytale,” Tish adds. “The most romantic fairytale you could ever imagine.”
