Ever since the Vogue alum made a dress for her own wedding in 1989, she shifted her career into bridal and began producing the most covetable gowns over the last three decades. Since launching her own bridal shop in the ’90s, Wang has expanded her empire to include ready-to-wear, beauty, and fragrance.
Celebrity brides like Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Victoria Beckham, and Issa Rae have chose to wear the designer’s gowns for their own wedding day—and even Charlotte York on Sex and the City made a visit to the famed salon for her first wedding gown. Writer Emily Sundberg wore a vintage Vera Wang gown she found at Tab Vintage for her New York City wedding. “I ordered it somewhat impulsively and it was a bit small, but when I unzipped it from the garment bag in front of my tailor Esin, she gasped and said she had worked on the dress back in 2006 when she worked for Vera Wang,” the bride says.

Actor Lana Condor wore a strapless Vera Wang gown with a train and slit for her 2024 Malibu wedding. “It was timeless and classic, while still youthful and playful,” she said. “My biggest hope—which I feel like I achieved—was to feel like myself in the dress, and I have never felt more beautiful than I did when I wore my wedding dress.”
