Giambattista Valli Celebrated 10 Years of Haute Couture with Vogue100

On Monday evening, Giambattista Valli commemorated the debut of his latest collection with an archive fashion show in honor of his haute couture legacy. Following Valli s fall 2022 couture show, friends and fashion folk gathered at Hotel d’Evreux to toast the 10th anniversary of Giambattista Valli haute couture.

Guests including Vogue’s Hamish Bowles, Robbie Williams, Ivy Getty, Olivia Palermo, Peter Brant, Jaime Xie, Cindy Bruna, Eiza Gonzalez, Lola Le Lann, Tina Leung, Vogue’s Tiziana Cardini, Suzy Menkes, Anna Dello Russo, and Thomas Delage all joined Monsieur Valli for a glass of bubbly while watching the sun set over the iconic Place Vendome. Soon everyone transitioned from the decadent cocktail hour to the formal dining room for the main event.

Of course, the menu was comprised of classic French fare, including truffle artichoke, poulet two ways, and fresh sea bass paired with a pesto vinaigrette. Between courses, guests shared their favorite looks from the new collection, which took place earlier in the evening at Pavillion Vendome. At one point during the night, Vogue’s Laura Paterson jokingly asked if Williams, a former Vogue cover star, might surprise the crowd with a performance. His reply? “Hand me a mic!”

Beautiful bouquets inspired by the brand’s signature colorways outfitted the white marble fireplaces and tablescapes. The immaculate 18th-century accents like opulent brass mirrors and gilded moldings transported guests back in time. And that is exactly what Valli intended to do.

To mark the monumental moment, Vogue100 and Giambattista Valli staged a salon-style fashion show with 20 looks straight from the Giambattista Valli haute couture archives, one from every collection to be exact. Many of the designs hadn’t been seen in years. Just before the dessert course was served, the music shifted, and the crowd went silent as the first model appeared in a voluminous pink gown from the fall 2017 couture collection. Gracefully, the models mazed between the dinner tables, showcasing looks in a rainbow of colors. Every ensemble was equally moving, from the cascading tulle ball gowns, a Valli signature, to the formal dresses embroidered with eccentric feathers.
