Lili Reinhart, Quinta Brunson, and Olivia Wilde Were Among Those Honored at the 2012 Women In Film Awards

The 2022 WIF (Women in Film, Los Angeles) Honors was one that left people feeling inspired and reinvigorated. A number of attendees said so during the event on Thursday night, including honorees Katie Silberman and Quinta Brunson. The ceremony, which commenced for the 19th year in partnership with Max Mara, recognized the women “forging forward” and reshaping the entertainment industry for the better.

There were near tears, for instance, as Viola Davis presented one of the Crystal Awards to Gina Prince-Bythewood with an emotional speech about the director and screenwriter’s ability to make Black women feel seen with her work. There were laughs courtesy of actor Da’Vine Joy Randolph who hosted the night and as Jane Fonda bestowed the Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award on honoree Michaela Coel.

Presenting Brunson with the Crystal Award, Sheryl Lee Ralph opened first by singing a few lines from Dianne Reeves’ “Endangered Species.” Lili Reinhart was honored with the WIF Max Mara Face of the Future Award in recognition of both her film work as well as her activism around mental health and body image. Also honored for the night were Olivia Wilde and Katie Silberman, as well as producer Dede Gardner, actor Carey Mulligan, and journalists Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey.

In between panels and insightful anecdotes shared between collaborators, guests enjoyed a meal with wine. Among the crowd that came to support was a list of industry professionals who, too, have an impressive portfolio of their own, including Miranda July, Kristen Bell, Thuso Mbedu, and Jessica Knolls.
