Inside the Young Collectors Council’s “Digital Glam” Party at the Guggenheim Museum

It’s not every day you can dance in the Guggenheim Museum s rotunda, but such was the program for the Young Collectors Council (YCC) Party, presented by LG Display. The one-night-only event saw a melding of technology and art as artist and programmer Rachel Rossin s digital artworks were woven through the iconic rotunda, adding to the glow of the night.

The evening kicked off with an intimate seated dinner at the museum s Wright Restaurant, where YCC cochairs, event cochairs, host committee members mixed and mingled before the night opened up for the after-party.

As the night unfolded, partygoers poured into the museum, eager to indulge in cocktails, the beats courtesy of The Muses, and Rossin s mesmerizing creations displayed on LG Transparent OLED screens.

Perched on one of the levels of the Guggenheim’s famous spiral, Naomi Beckwith, deputy director and Jennifer and David Stockman chief curator at the Guggenheim, along with Seol Park, head of brand management at LG Corp, and Chris Jung, President and CEO of LG Electronics North America, raised their glasses in tribute to the recipient of the 2024 LG Guggenheim Award, artist Shu Lea Cheang.

Earlier in the night at the dinner, Beckwith addressed the room: “I have aged out of the YCC group, however, this is the party that I like to come to,” she said. “I want to thank you all as a Young Collectors Council for bringing the energy, bringing the hope, bringing the amazing work into the collection, bringing the fire, as the kids will say.”

With a dress code of digital glam, everyone did indeed bring the fire.
