While most of America is experiencing below-freezing temperatures and piles of snow, Larsson says summer isn’t over yet—and she’s finding inspiration in the light of this moment. “I’m just doing what I do, which is to have fun and to sing,” she says. “Success is a symptom of creating, and that’s the way it should be. The focus should always be on the creativity and the inspiration around music. Whatever happens after that is just the cherry on top.”

Does that mean her tropical, beachy closet will continue through the rest of winter? Yes, despite Punxsutawney Phil declaring six more weeks of winter this morning. She’s working on the deluxe version of the album, and dropped a Muni Long remix of “Midnight Sun” that’s currently on repeat across the Vogue office.

“This era lasts as long as the music allows me to,” she says. “I want everything to be driven by the songs. But in terms of fashion and style, I wish to see my style naturally evolve and develop with time and the next story I wanna tell. I feel that what I’m doing right now is so me, meaning I won’t do a full 180 and turn into something completely different.”
