Zendaya and a Pack of Cool Kids Toasted Fendi’s Latest Collection With a Cocktail Party

Last night on Madison Avenue, Fendi’s NYC flagship threw a party buzzing with the cool kids. The reason for the celebration was the label’s newly-released collection by Creative Director Silvia Venturini Fendi, who has taken the design reins of the house since Karl Lagerfeld’s passing last year. Television darlings and supermodels alike came to sip cocktails and survey the new pieces just before NYFW kicks off.

With tons to do from Paris to New York, those who visited Fendi reported going the mellow route this year. “I’m keeping it low-key, low profile this month…. I’m just gonna have a fun night hangin’ out with my best friend over there, Darnell,” shared a smiley, breezy Zendaya, who covered Vogue in June. “I think I’m only doing this, really.”

She wasn’t the only VIP with that agenda—Whiplash star Miles Teller said, “We’re kind of just here [in New York] for Fendi, for this specific event. I’ve had a relationship with the brand for a couple of years now. My wife is a big fan. I’m just appreciative of the fact that I was able to wear something pretty comfortable.” He laughed, gesturing at his slouchy cotton overcoat and cream-colored V-neck sweater. Zendaya had the same idea, in a pair of checkered shorts that were cozy enough to sleep in. “I wanted to wear something that was, like, comfortable,” she said, swaddling herself in her oversized Fendi cardigan. “It’s cozy, it’s cold in New York!”

The new collection, which was displayed throughout both levels of the store, is meant to evoke warmth of an Italian sunrise; the garments on display are colored in soft pinks, ochre tones, and rich greens. Katie Holmes (ever the sartorial superstar) spun around in a frock incorporating all three hues, while Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi toted a Fendi baguette bag and mingled throughout the crowd.

“Fendi is such a legendary brand. Especially with Karl’s passing, I feel like they’ve really kept up the energy of his spirit. I’m really happy to have the rapport with them,” shared Winnie Harlow, a long-time Fendi girl.

After a long night of flowery cocktails, light bites, and dreamy garments, the night closed (an hour late!) with a dance-off between sweethearts Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse, who moved to musical stylings from Soo Joo Park.
