My name is Joseph Altuzarra ,

and I m the creative director and founder of Altuzarra.

I love my job and being a designer,

because being a designer really encapsulates a lot of,

of things that I love.

You have to be a little bit of a story teller,

and you have to know a little bit about culture,

but you also have to be a historian,

and a sociologist

and a therapist,

in some cases.

And I get to work with amazing people every day.

I think there s a lot of confusion,

and a lot of unknowns,

and, you know, I talk a lot with my team,

and try to communicate as much as possible with them,

and also with a lot of my peers,

and a lot of people in the business,

to try to understand sort of what all the moving pieces are.

Even though this is a difficult time,

I think that we will all make it through together,

and that we ll be stronger in the end.

And I also think this is an opportunity

for us to kind of take stock,

and kind of think about

the way that we ve been doing things.

The way that I ve been running the business,

or the way that I ve been designing collections,

and kind of rethink,

rethink some assumptions,

and challenge ourselves a little bit,

to think creatively about the future.

I think that one thing that I keep on thinking about,

is that we re all going through the same thing.

The only way that we will move forward is,

to band together as a community,

and to

put our heads together,

and think about

how we can do things differently.

But I feel really optimistic about the future,

and about what this industry is going to look like,

in the next few years.
