My name is Marion Forand,

I am design director of handbags and shoes for Phillip Lim.

What I m dealing with right now is finding the right

organization to keep up with work

and making sure that my four years old daughter

remains busy and happy.

As a single mother it is not always simple,

but with one child it is still manageable.

I think what affects me the most

is to be far from my family.

In New York we are mostly immigrants,

especially in the fashion industry.

So a pandemic like the current one is really stressful.

We hope for the best for our loved ones,

knowing that we won t be there if they get sick.

Something that brings me hope during this time is that we

have time to rethink your society.

I believe we need a drastic change when

it comes to consumerism.

I believe we need a lot more transparency,

more integrity and more sustainability.

I think we should buy less, but better.

I am highly concerned about our footprint on this planet,

we know we have to do a lot better and this is the right

time to pause and think about

how we can improve our industry.

I fell in love with fashion because when I draw I forget

about everything else, this is how I can protect my

inner peace right now.

What I am hoping in the coming weeks is new fault

from all government to support independent companies

and small factories to get through this uncertain time.

I hope everyone is home and healthy.

We will get through this together,

this is our common thread

and these are the stories of our community.
