The 2025 Met Gala dress code was just announced,

Each year, the dress code is inspired

by the theme of the Met s spring Costume Institute exhibit.

This year s exhibit is Superfine, Tailoring Black Style.

The exhibit will explore the role

the tutorial style has played in forming Black identities.

Let s break down what that means

in the context of Black Dandyism.

Black Dandyism is an exuberant, unabashed manner of dress.

With our incredible Co-chairs, Colman Domingo,

Lewis Hamilton, ASAP Rocky, Pharrell Williams,

and Honorary Chair LeBron James, the bar is very high.

We may see everything

from references to the Harlem Renaissance to Zoot suits,

maybe some Dapper Dan,

perhaps some Virgil Abloh for Louis Vuitton,

or nods to the sartorial excellence

often seen on HBCU campuses.
