Do you have a secret skill?

Well, I can purr.

Like a cat?

Do it.

[Amanda purring]

[tone beeping]

Hi, I am Amanda Seyfried.

And I m Sydney Sweeney and.

[Both] This is Vogue s Off The Cuff.

Okay.

Round one, icebreakers. [Amanda hooting]

What did you think of me when we first met?

I thought you were really sweet

and you just really wanted to collaborate and chat.

Aw.

What was your first ever job?

I was a waitress at a retirement community

and I just ate everything.

[Sydney laughing]

What was your first email address?

It s my same email address

that I have still. Okay, no, no.

We don t need to know. And I can t give it to you.

No you don t.

Who is your female celebrity crush?

Female celebrity crush would have to be Florence Pugh.

Ooh.

If you could watch one movie for the rest of your life,

what would it be?

Mama Mia.

Okay, good, thank you. I like it.

What niche group chat are you a part of?

It s not niche, it s like my tennis crew.

Oh, that s cool. Kinda niche

for me. Yeah.

What is your most irrational fear?

[hissing] I mean, my biggest fear

is I ll be alone forever.

That s irrational.

Okay. If you could only wear one item from your closet,

what would it be?

Denim, my jeans.

What is your dream car?

A Mercedes 300 SL.

Oh, nice.

[Sydney] Yes.

Oh, round two, we re gonna get personal.

Okay.

What s your favorite band from childhood?[laughing]

Nine Inch Nails.

[both laughing]

Describe yourself in three words.

Optimistic, eccentric, and wired.

What about acting still scares you or excites you?

Accents, both scares and excites.

How do you like to unwind after an intense shoot day?

I usually just hang out with my friends or my dog.

Favorite book to film adaptation.

[jazzy music]

It s a Stephen King movie.

The Housemaid.

The Housemaid.

[Sydney laughing]

What was your childhood nickname?

I ve always just been Sid the Kid.

Oh, that s cute.

Yeah. Yeah.

Round three, film questions.

[Sydney] Oh, no.

Do you think Cassie and Karen would be friends?

Possibly, I don t know.

I don t even know if they d even run in the same circle.

What do you think people want?

Yes.

If Millie wrote a Yelp review at the Winchesters,

what star rating would she give?

Probably, I mean, I d probably give like, she d give two.

The house is nice, but the house is nice.

Then it gets bad.

But then it gets good.

And then it gets good again

and then go bad, and then good.

So maybe at the end

it would be, yeah. I think she d,

constantly be going on Yelp and re changing her review.

Which character do you relate to more? Millie or Nina?

I think we re all Millie in some ways.

If you re a Nina. Hopefully.

We have questions for you.

Yeah, what s your funniest thing

that s happened to you on set?

Well, recently it was my birthday

and I m filming season three of Euphoria right now,

and I walked out and there was a mariachi band

singing Happy Birthday, [Amanda gasping]

so that was pretty fun. Who did that?

Sam and Ashley.

That is so cute.

It was fun.

Do you feel more at home in comedic roles

[laughing] or dramatic ones?

Oh, my God, comedic.

What s your onset snack?

Each project, usually it changes

and whatever I have on the first day,

whatever I eat that day, if it s a good day,

I eat it every single day following.

What the?

If you had a pickle, would you then eat pickles every day?

Between breakfast and lunch snack is a pickle

on Euphoria wrapped in turkey.

No shit, I just guessed that.

The pickle wrapped

in turkey. Wrapped in turkey?

Oh, that s delicious.

I never had it before.

I was like what this? Dipped in Dijon?

No dips.

Why are you so dip? A dip?

I don t know.

I was just, I didn t, I just never got into condiments.

There s never too late to discover the world of dips.

If I just had dips, I would be fine.

I like barbecue sauce.

Well, that s a dip.

Yeah.

Oh my God. Oh, Dijon.

What line could you never get right?

Every single line I sang in fucking Le Mis.

What is the sweetest fan interaction you ve ever had?

Aw, I ve had so many sweet fan interactions.

There s a group in New York

that I always see every single time I m there

and they ll make me like little cards and it s super cute.

I know, it s nice when you find fans

that you feel safe with. And you remember them.

Yeah. And it s really fun.

When a script lands on your desk,

what makes you say yes?

A good director.

I mean, if it s a bad script, probably not.

Yeah. But if it s a good director,

I ll be like, I gotta read this immediately.

Style questions.

[Sydney] Oh, man.

Do you have any red carpet fashion mishap stories?

Because I sure do.

Oh, my gosh. Yeah.

Okay, so one time I wore this couture dress.

We were getting ready, it was crazy.

And I had a little candle burning

and someone put the dress on top of the candle

and it burnt a hole through the middle.

But we didn t tell nobody.

[laughing] It was horrifying.

It could have been so much worse.

What did you do?

No, it could have been so much worse.

I m just thinking. Oh, the whole thing.

The whole thing blowing up. [both laughing]

[laughing] The whole thing s on fire

And you re like, it s a couture, somebody.

Oh God, yeah. Oh, it was bad.

It was so bad.

What fashion trend or item do you think should just stay

in trend forever?

Loose jeans.

Yes. Agreed.

I don t want skinny jeans.

I know I finally moved on from that,

and I feel great about it. I don t want skinny jeans.

All right, what has been your most memorable

fashion faux pas?

Most memorable?

Yeah. Oh yeah,

just wearing a white bra under a black see-through dress

and a black thong when I was 19, and nobody told me.

If you could steal the wardrobe of any character

you ve played, who would it be and why?

Maybe Les Mis, just because it was just

the most incredible extraordinary dresses.

Round five. Guess the look.

Oh, I m gonna show you this.

[Sydney] Okay.

Where s that from?

Oh, that is Cassie, season two Euphoria,

Oklahoma scene. Obsessed.

This is so fun. Yeah.

It was a lot of fun. Wouldn t you want that?

You would want her clothes. Right?

It s so beautiful. Okay.

All right. When was that?

That was at the Met Ball, Givenchy.

Givenchy.

Second Met Ball ever. Yeah. There she is.

There she is in her wedding dress.

Tell me about this look.

Oh, no.

[gasping] You know what I think this is?

I think so. You know.

This was one of the first carpets I ever got invited to.

I don t remember what project it was for,

but it was during the press run

of Everything Sucks for Netflix.

I think I got that at a sale rack at a store

for 60 bucks or something.

And you re giving it.

[Sydney] Thanks.

And you re doing the, I mean, you look beautiful.

I was so nervous. I know.

I hate those shoes. It s terrifying.

The shoes are beautiful. But not for that outfit.

No, not for that outfit.

I don t know why I did that. But you know that now

it s, Netflix is weird. We have to learn.

The only way to grow is to learn

from your mistakes. Exactly.

And I ve made a lot of mistakes in fashion.

And now we have stylists.

Yes. And I feel very grateful

for that. Yes. Okay.

Where is, oh, I don t know how you re gonna figure it.

If you figure this out, this is crazy.

Where is this from?

That s me in my dress from Jennifer s Body.

Stop, how would? Because it s very specific.

I don t think I ve ever worn anything like that in my life.

Yeah, so it s a classic dress.

What a memory.

[Sydney laughing] What character is, oh,

you know what character this is?

Lemme see.

[paper flapping]

Oh, well that s Christy.

Did skip a slide?

[Amanda] No.

Where is this from?

This is funny.

My first postpartum look with Alexander McQueen

on the Venice red carpet.

Stop.

You had a baby before this?

You look incredible.

Thank you.

I was definitely, This is insane.

I have hips there, which is really nice.

So where is, I don t know what this is, but where s that?

Oh, I see what it is now.

Where is that? Oh, okay.

This was a custom dress that I wore to TIFF last year

for Eden.

It was an interesting time

because I was actually bulking up for Christy

then. Oh, God.

So I wanted to hide my shoulders and my arms

because I didn t want anyone noticing.

And I also, of course, when no one knows

what you re doing next, I felt self-conscious, so.

[Amanda] I know.

Who, oh, look at you.

Who is she?

She is Joni. It s so cute. Cutie patootie.

Tell me about this look.

Okay. Oh, I know what, okay.

I know where you are. Oh, Emmy s.

Yeah. It s custom

Oscar de la Renta. What s this neckpiece?

That s a beautiful diamond necklace.

It was very nice. I could not take it home, sadly.

Round six.

Oh, lightning round. Three, two, one.

Humans or animals?

A humans is Really?

Humans. I thought

you d choose animals.

I love animals, but I would prefer, I love my kids.

But you get so excited around dogs.

Is is that the question?

What s the question? We need more context.

That was it humans or animals?

Oh, God. West coast or east coast?

I don t know.

I am. [laughing]

West.

Okay.

[indistinct] But now I like the East Coast.

We need context for this. I don t know.[yelling]

Farm or city?

Farm.

Studio or Indie?

Well, you can t make me choose between those two.

Just say studio.

Well, I have to say studio right now

because we re promoting a studio film.

But if I was talking Christy, indie.

Folk or show tunes?

Folk. Folk.

Folk?

Folk.

[laughing] Hero or villain?

Villain.

Order or chaos?

Order. Hot or cold?

Hot [laughing] Fruit or veggies?

Fruit. Eat out or take away?

Take away. Loud or quiet?

Quiet. Karen or Cassie?

What? You can t.

Sorry. Do that to me.

Honestly, Karen, I identified as Karen

with a lot actually [laughing].

I actually did too.

[laughing] Coffee or matcha?

Coffee. Comfort or couture?

Comfort. ABBA or Joni Mitchell?

Oh, Joni Mitchell.

Driver or passenger?

Driver. Save or spend?

Spend.

Love or money?

Ooh, love. But I like money too.

Oh God, it s or loney.

[Sydney laughing] Moove.

Okay, yes or no?

Oh, yes. Now or later?

Now. All right, thanks for watching.

This has been Off the Cuff. Bye.

Bye, Vogue.[laughing]
