When it comes to the Fashion Week shows, a dynamic cast of models is a surefire way to create an exciting fashion moment. This season, we saw Christy Turlington’s return to the runway at Marc Jacobs and Stephanie Seymour’s at Versace. Penelope Cruz lead a pack of Karl Lagerfeld’s muses for his final collection at Chanel, while Grace Jones danced her way down Zendaya’s Tommy Hilfiger show to rapturous applause. But it’s worth noting that many of the best sightings don’t happen backstage, but on the street after. It’s no mystery why street style photographers so love a model off-duty; there’s a singular charm in the collision of post-show hair and make-up with personal style.
Take Dilone, for example, who made slouchy slacks and an oversize button-up look unmistakably cool by topping them off with French girl essentials: a pair of wire frame sunnies and a classic leather jacket. Minimal silver jewelry, book in hand, and a bag slung under her arm—it was one of the chicest looks of the month. Elsewhere, we saw oversize blazers on models like Chu Wong, dressed down with simple white denim and colorful printed shirts, which looked casual yet professional at the same time. Street style favorite Hanne Gaby Odiele went with understated model must-haves—a pair of flat booties and smart black trousers—while Soo Joo Park and Maud Hoevelaken were spotted wearing two of Spring’s biggest and brightest trends: neon and tie-dye, pulled off with aplomb.
