This summer, celebrities have been spotted all over the world, from Italy to Bali to, well, more Italy (it’s quite the hotspot). But, this summer, Alessandra Ambrosio and her family are taking the ultimate All-American vacation: the road trip.
The supermodel has been traveling up California’s Highway 1 with her two children. The route, which roughly stretches from Los Angeles to San Francisco, is considered one of the best drives in the world, thanks to its spectacular Pacific Ocean views.
Which, for anyone who follows Amborsio on Instagram, is very apparent. She’s been posting—and geotagging—all her stops along the way. Like a seaside cliff in Pismo Beach at golden hour, or her two children at a Santa Barbara harbor.
She reserved the most snaps for the most scenic part of the drive: Big Sur. A must-see? The Bixby Creek Bridge (or, that bridge from the opening credits of Big Little Lies).
McWay Falls required two pictures. “Chasing waterfalls,” Ambrosio wrote.
Then it was off to Carmel, California—a beautiful Monterey County town that also played host to Hilary Swank’s recent wedding.
Next, the family spent a day exploring San Francisco. Ambrosio’s kids rode the carousel at Pier 39, and ventured down the hairpin turns of Lombard Street. (The model could be heard shouting “woohoo!” on her Instagram story.) They also enjoyed some lunch, including a plate of halibut crudo with summer melon and chili oil at Cotogna in Jackson Square.
Also on the itinerary? A detour to Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park, presumably to see some ancient, giant trees.
And if anyone was wondering how they stayed entertained in the car, Ambrosio storied some of her secrets: it’s all about Snapchat filters, and the Grease soundtrack.
