Amy Adams, Naomie Harris, and More at the 2017 National Board of Review Gala

While many of Hollywood’s A-list are flocking back to Los Angeles in anticipation of Sunday’s Golden Globes, last night in New York at Cipriani 42nd Street, many of this year’s nominees were toasting each other at the National Board of Review Gala. Getting in one last red carpet spin were Amy Adams in a breathy Marchesa frock; Greta Gerwig, who slipped into a decadent velvet dress from Prada; and Maggie Gyllenhaal in a printed, strong-shouldered Marni number. But the night, emceed by MSNBC and NBC’s Willie Geist, was also about celebrating talent including Manchester by the Sea’s Casey Affleck; Moonlight’s Naomie Harris, dressed impeccably in Brandon Maxwell; and Hell or High Water’s Jeff Bridges—who all took home acting honors. And between the jokes from Seth Meyers, Peter Berg, and Mark Wahlberg, the evening was a triumph of artistic creativity and expression.
