After mastering summer-in-the-city style, Jennifer Lawrence has moved on to conquering winter. Today, fresh off her Golden Globe nomination for Die My Love, Lawrence faced the frigid New York City day with flair.
A fan of wardrobe building blocks, Lawrence wore a ladylike draped ecru coat over a white long-sleeve. On the bottom, she obscured a pair of black and white shoes with wide-legged navy trousers, puddled hem dragging on the ground like a punky teenage boy.
As always, Lawrence proved herself a master accessorizer. She opted for statement eyewear with a pair of oversized Dior sunglasses, frames ever so slightly tilted in towards the center of her forehead. But what really livened up the outfit was a tasteful amount of power clashing. Lawrence slung her beloved cheetah print Prada bag over her shoulder and wrapped a multicolored striped scarf around her neck.
Lawrence’s eclecticism transcends the seasons. In warmer months, she mixes high and low, pairing vintage graphic tees with layered slip skirts and Hermès bags. In fall, she styled GORPy sneakers with a luxe, flung-open Kelly. Now, she’s bringing that sartorial nonchalance into winter with artful pattern mixing and uptown-mom-meets-downtown-son sensibility.
Getting dressed on a freezing winter morning is already an arduous task. Follow Jennifer Lawrence’s lead, and add a little power clashing to your cold weather wardrobe.
