Last night was a hauntingly good time as we plunged into the spookiest season of the year. From spine-chilling soirées in LA to costume extravaganzas in NYC, Vogue made the rounds at 2024’s top Halloween parties, sinking our fangs into the season’s most coveted invites.

Starting out East, “The City That Never Sleeps” set the tone with a late-night séance at Hulaween: Garden of Good and Evil, founded by the Queen of Hocus Pocus herself, Bette Midler. In honor of the New York Restoration Project’s 28th annual gala, it was a night to remember, celebrating another year of the nonprofit’s transformative cleaning and greening efforts across New York City. The highlight? Midler sang to Robert De Niro as she honored the actor, producer, and director with the “Wind Beneath My Wings” Award.

Next up, E.T. phoned home to Heidi Klum s Halloween bash at the Hard Rock Hotel New York, where the two-story venue transformed into a sci-fi thrill. Klum stunned as E.T., complete with animatronic eyes, alongside her husband, Tom Kaulitz, as her extraterrestrial sidekick.

Out West, the haunted house-themed party by Paly Hollywood promises a chilling blend of fashion, art, and cult phenomena. The invite-only event will showcase a Halloween capsule and select pieces from the Fall/Winter ‘24 collection. In celebration of Día de Muertos, celebrity photographer Carlos Eric Lopez hosted his fourth annual gala honoring Eva Longoria.

On the costume front, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024) reigned supreme, with “Shrunken Head Bob” trending as Google’s top Halloween search. Not to be out-kangaroo’d, Raygun took the number two spot, no doubt inspiring trick-or-treaters with her head-turning breakdancing routine during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Third place went to “Catnap” from the Smiling Critters cartoon.

Stay tuned as we send you live updates on this season’s hottest haunts and devilish delights on this Halloween’s most talked about costumes and parties…

Michael Braun and Vas Morgan’s Spooky Saloon

For this year’s star-studded Halloween soirée, which was supported by Jas Mathur’s Limitless, everyone was transported to the Wild West. Bales of hay guided guests including Emma Roberts, Lori Harvey, Ashley Benson, Emma Chamberlain, Tiffany Haddish, Madeline Petsch, Camila Mendes Rita Ora, and Stella Maxwell up to the rooftop turned old school saloon complete with a mechanical bull, vintage cowboy prints, and lots of Lalo tequila. Paris Hilton took a break from deejaying for the night to show up as pop star Britney Spears in her iconic “…Baby One More Time” look. On theme, Kaia Gerber and Travis Jackson dazzled as Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders while Diplo, Chace Crawford, Rebel Wilson, and Brooks Nader sported rodeo-ready ensembles featuring leather chaps, suede jackets, and some fabulous fringe. As for the fare? Guests snacked on Carl’s Jr. charbroiled burgers. Yeehaw!

Inside Heidi Klum’s 23rd Annual Halloween Party

Last night, E.T. phoned home—and landed at Heidi Klum s Halloween party, bringing Steven Spielberg’s beloved 1982 sci-fi classic to life. Held at the Hard Rock Hotel New York’s “The Venue on Music Row,” the two-story space was turned into a haunting masterpiece that brought thrill-seekers together for the ultimate night of horror. Heidi, dressed in a jaw-dropping E.T. costume complete with animatronic eyes, stole the show alongside her husband, Tom Kaulitz, who joined her as a classic 80s extraterrestrial sidekick. But the vibe was anything but alien, with guest appearances by stars like Marc Jacobs, Chase Stokes, Kelsea Ballerini, and Klum’s daughter, Leni Klum, following in her mother’s footsteps with her alien galaxy getup.

From spooky DJ sets by Questlove and Gottmik Violet Chachki to snapping creepy keepsakes at Mattel’s interactive activations, the party was packed with surprises. Butterfinger added a sweet touch with mini treats and Butterfinger-Tinis, while Mattel brought on the nostalgia with Barney in the DJ booth and a Magic 8 Ball fortune teller giving us all a taste of childhood magic—with a twist. Specialty drinks flowed all night, featuring Skrewball’s unique lineup of peanut butter whiskey cocktails, including the Skrewball Bloody Bramble and the decadent Skrewball Espresso Martini. By the time the clock struck midnight, guests had sipped on everything from Perrier Jouet Champagne to Kreepy Kola cocktails, mingled with icons of pop culture, and experienced the Queen of Halloween in all her otherworldly glory. —Lauren Sanchez

A Very Lady Diana Halloween with The Frankie Shop and Unemployed

Pinterest searches for ‘Princess Diana’ must have been up significantly this week, because there wasn’t a Spencer-shaped stone left unturned at The Frankie Shop and Unemployed magazine throwdown in Meatpacking. As soon as you turned onto West 13th Street after 11 p.m., there were dollar store tiaras, ‘80s cropped blonde wigs, and Harvard sweatshirts as far as the eye could see. Inside the high octane soon-to-open Chez Margaux—a glossy smorgasbord of a member’s club where anything feels possible once you get behind the red velvet rope—Dianas from every era gathered in a terribly British fever dream of sorts. There was no shortage of the aforementioned collegiate jumper and cycling shorts look, blokes in revenge dresses, preppy and posh versions of the People’s Princess, and dutiful Instagram husbands who’d been forced into Dodi Fayed drag for the night. Someone had even come as the Princess Diana 1997 Beanie Baby, while artist Quentin Jones printed out 50 front pages of The Sun and fashioned the tabloid tearouts into an outfit. Not one to do things by half measures, The Frankie Shop’s fun-loving founder Gaëlle Drevet had gone the extra mile, adding a cardboard diving board to complete her take on Lady Di’s infamous swimsuit paparazzi image. Outside, being mobbed by faux paparazzi, Unemployed’s Cecile Winckler was in an embellished, mutton sleeve meringue of a white ‘wedding’ gown. “It’s someone’s quinceañera dress,” she said during a smoke break. “We love a singular costume theme. We knew everyone would have fun—men always love to dress as women.” —Freya Drohan

Boom Halloween Presents Freak Show at The Standard

Is it even Halloween in New York if not for the annual fête at the top of The Standard Highline? The famed party venue, Boom, is known by the cool crowd to host after-parties for just about anyone who’s anyone on any exclusive occasion…but Halloween brings a particular dress code and je ne sais quoi. This year’s bash boasted a Freak Show theme (apologies to those frightened by clowns), and of course, costumes were mandatory for entry. Inside Boom (FKA the Boom Boom Room), the round center bar, known for its huge glossy tree architecture, was draped in pinstripe red and white fabric, transforming the space into a circus tent. Amidst the floor-to-ceiling wrap-around city views, friends of the fashion industry and guests tried to spot familiar faces, shrouded by their clever festive disguises—with a special shoutout to the woman dressed as Cousin It, in a fully encompassing head-to-toe, floor-length wig. Notable guests and party ghouls in attendance included Nicole Scherzinger, Latto, Raisia Flowers, Brandon Blackwood (moonlighting as Kamala Harris for the evening), Francesca Scorsese, Valentina Sampaio, Leon Bridges, and more. —Concetta Ciarlo

Carlos Eric Lopez’s Fourth Annual Día de Muertos Gala

At Paramount Studios, the spirit of Día de Muertos came alive as Carlos Eric Lopez hosted his fourth annual Día de Muertos Gala, and it was nothing short of a cinematic tribute to Latino culture. Themed “Hecho in Hollywood,” the night honored tradition, family, and the Latino trailblazers whose legacy and creativity light up the arts. Lopez, a renowned photographer and Cura Lita founder, delivered opening remarks alongside Juanpa Zurita, celebrating Latinos’ roles in building—and shining on—the Hollywood stage.

Actress Eva Longoria was presented with the Premio Vida y Legado for her groundbreaking contributions, remarking, “Power is not given; it’s taken. To see a room like this shows we’re finally taking our power.” Isabela Merced honored her tía Gloria Rojas with the Abuelita Award, on behalf of her late grandmother. Oscar-winning designer Eugenio Caballero received the Marigold Award, highlighting his iconic work on Pan’s Labyrinth and Roma.

The evening featured Merced’s haunting rendition of “La Llorona,” a dance by Dancing with the Stars duo Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy, and a powerful afterparty performance by Grammy Award-winner Miguel. The gala also announced a new partnership with the Latino Film Institute to support Latino film professionals—affirming the event as a pinnacle celebration of culture, art, and community.

Meredith Duxbury’s 3rd Annual Halloween Party

Meredith Duxbury’s 3rd annual Halloween party transformed Paul’s Baby Grand into a lavish haunted hotel, drawing in a glamorous yet eerie crowd to match. Known for her knack for blending fashion with theatrical flair, Duxbury didn’t disappoint—arriving dressed as a ghostly maid in a vintage-inspired uniform, complete with ethereal makeup.

The guest list boasted names like Thomas Doherty, The Young Emperors, Sistine and Sophia Stallone, Maria Georgas, and Remi Bader, all eager to celebrate in spooky style. The party pulsed with energy thanks to Isaac Likes’ thrilling DJ set, while Fun City Tattoos provided custom Halloween ink and Charlotte Tilbury offered an on-site makeup bar for last-minute touch-ups. As if that weren’t enough, guests sipped on themed cocktails like ‘Midnight in Manhattan,’ ‘Meredith’s Love Potion,’ and a creatively renamed Negroni, the ‘Jack-O-Lantern.’ Needless to say, Duxbury’s ‘Haunted Hotel’ was fully booked with thrills, leaving guests checking out only at night’s end.—Lauren Sanchez

Paly’s Halloween Haunted House

A giant swimming pool marked the center of Paly’s Halloween bash, hosted by its co-founders, James Franco and Kyle Lindgren. Home to film legend Samuel Goldwyn, and The Future Perfect’s latest residential art showcasing venue, costumed partygoers perused every nearly inch of the estate where the party commenced, taking in geometrical sofas and other architectural figures (all for sale), some of them, original pieces by Franco. The artful space was further spruced (or spooked) up for the night with festive touches: a red-lit dance room for the DJ, a faux corpse floating in the pool, and ghostly webs dispersed throughout the estate’s ample greenery.

The brand’s Halloween capsule collection was displayed along the pool’s perimeter. “I’m dressed as the mannequin,” Lindgren laughed, opting not for a costume but instead a look from the collection, while Franco wore a distressed leather jacket adorned with graffiti spray paint, pins, and patches. As the party wrapped up—later than expected—a handful of lingering guests huddled around the fire pit or tucked into the estate’s art-filled corners. Limos arrived soon after to sweep up the last remaining attendees, ready to find the next party. —Jamila Stewart

The Moon Room Surrealist Halloween Party

For those skipping a house party, what’s better than a new bar for Halloween? Los Angeles’s The Moon Room, which opened earlier this year, hosted its first Surrealist Halloween Party on Thursday, with hosts Mishel Prada, Stacey Louise Grant, Tony Revolori (who jetted in for the night between filming), Jared Meisler, Stephanie Gotch, and Denise Love Hewett (who also took over the turntables at the end of the night to close out the event with a DJ set). Costumes ranged from Margot Robbie’s Barbie to Kurt Cobain to a giant bowl of ramen, with guests like Lili Reinhart, Zach Tabori, Alex Carapetis, and more mingling throughout the space all night. Myles Hendrik and Maad set the evening’s vibe before Hewett, playing on-theme hits like “Murder on the Dancefloor,” “Thriller,” and “Somebody’s Watching Me.” Reinhart and her boyfriend Jack Martin sat together with Prada, while Devon Ross performed a set with her boyfriend Marlon Sexton. For the menu, Prada had a few tricks up her sleeve, and when it came to treats, the surrealist selection included a dirty martini jello cake and edible flowers—Jamila Stewart

A “Cursed Amulet” Soirée by Julio Torres

What do you get when you mix the visionary mind of Julio Torres with philanthropy and the spookiest of holidays? A night of Halloween revelry under the banner of the “Cursed Amulet” – produced by Lauren Mandel at Brooklyn mega-club Elsewhere.

The first annual event featured a bevy of entertainment peers, including Jeremy O Harris (a bloody top-hatted gentleman), Ziwe (a cheerleader), Emily Ratajkowski (a crab) and Brandon Flynn (a toothsome ghoul) in dramatic costuming. A Surrealist dance-fueled, multi-room extravaganza played out in the space while working overtime as a fundraiser for the Black, trans-led advocacy and services organization G.L.I.T.S. Guests flitted between rooms packed with discos balls, clouds, and a life-sized purple and silver Cursed Amulet necklace. Torres held court dressed in an otherworldly ensemble that included a snout, creepy crawly accessories, and a larger-than-life white bow—how hauntingly sublime. —Sam Falb

Milliner Gigi Burris Got Witchy at Her Atelier

It was the Season of the Witch at Gigi Burris Millinery s spooky night of "female craft." Hosted by head supreme Gigi Burris, the cozy atelier on Pell Street was transfigured into a whimsical haven, adorned with suspended brooms and striking black hats that showcased Burris signature style alongside the exquisite handcrafted brooms by Erin Rouse of Custodian Studio.

Guests were greeted with the "Burned at the Stake" cocktail—an activated charcoal blackberry martini that was as delicious as it was eerie. A custom embroidery station for hatbands and a whimsical bow bar offered personalized accents, adding an extra charm to the night.

Jesse Jo Stark’s Deadly Doll Ball at Chrome Hearts

In L.A., Chrome Hearts’ Jesse Jo Stark was among the first to awaken the city with a spooky spectacle, transforming the cult-favorite brand’s factory into the Deadly Doll Ball, named after the Creative Director and rock-and-roll singer-songwriter’s merch line, Deadly Doll. To say Stark completely transformed her family’s iconic factory is an understatement — with tattered tombstones and a flower-draped mausoleum, the outside was refashioned into a brooding graveyard, while inside, guests could costume-check as needed at a row of coffin mirrors, each adorned with white florals at its base for an especially ghostly effect. Elsewhere, devil and demon bartenders served up creepy cocktails from barely lit bars. Regarding attendees, Stark was joined by her parents, Richard and Laurie Lynn Stark, as well as her siblings, Frankie and Kristian. Cole and Dylan Sprouse, with Barbara Palvin, brought just the right amount of fright, along with Madison Beer and Ming Lee Simmons. The music for the evening was provided by The Dare, currently celebrated for his contributions to Charli XCX’sBRAT,” which, of course, was part of the rotation, ensuring a non-stop dance party.—Lauren Sanchez
