Camila Cabello knows how to keep a good thing going. The singer may have abandoned her blonde hair—which she debuted as part of the promo cycle for her latest record C, XOXO–but she’s still holding onto her style shift.
Last night the singer joined the likes of Dua Lipa, Gwen Stefani, and The Weeknd at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. She hit the red carpet in a ribbed ombré “barcode” dress from Grace Ling before changing into her stage outfit. For her performance, Cabello went hell for leather in a black racing jacket with powder blue accents, which she paired with a black mico-miniskirt—both of which were adorned with various straps, hardware, and cross motifs.
But Cabello’s shoes were the real star of the show. She took the stage in a pair of black chunky knee-high boots with a lug sole and strips of blueish-gray fur snaking around her calves. The entire look—the leather, the crosses, the ultra-short hemline, the zany shoe choice—was part and parcel of her edgy new sartorial M.O.
Cabello knows that a wild footwear choice is a surefire way to add some spunk to an outfit. Earlier this year, she tried out a pair of square-toed Fidan Novruzova ankle boots swaddled in brown faux fur. On another occasion, she accepted becoming a fall risk for fashion, strutting down the streets of Los Angeles in leather belt chaps by the newly minted LVMH Prize winner Hodakova. You’ve gotta hand it to Camila Cabello for her commitment to the freaky shoe!
