Cultivating a persona has its risks, as Camila Cabello has so astutely demonstrated. The singer, in the midst of a rebrand from girl group rebel to Gen Z hyperpop star, has switched up her style in favor of some pretty extreme—and potentially dangerous—fashions.
Last night at Mr. T on Los Angeles’s hip Sycamore Avenue, Cabello opted for a leather-heavy look, wearing a cropped black motorcycle jacket with a padded shoulder, which she paired with a gray cargo miniskirt from The Attico, and black oval Prada sunglasses.
But the real star of the show was Cabello’s leather belted leg-warmers from Hodakova. The black chaps, cinched with belts, encased her calves and were worn over her black leather boots. With the excess belt material trailing on the ground, Cabello is reminiscent of a kid with their shoes untied, awakening our inner concerned mother. We’re struggling to keep from shouting, Don’t trip!!!
Camila Cabello is clearly proving that she’s willing to risk it all for her new look—even the health and wellbeing of her bones.
