But it was especially interesting to observe how the glamorous Chinese actresses, with years of experience wearing Eastern-style costumes on screen, interpreted the Met Gala’s 2015 dress code.
There was no single approach: Cochair Gong Li wore one of **Peter Dundas’**s first creations for Roberto Cavalli, a wine-colored velvet sheath with intricate chinoiserie embroidery; Zhang Ziyi wore a custom-made Carolina Herrera full-skirted ball gown which featured elements of the traditionalqipao, while Tang Wei shone “bright like a diamond” in a look by Burberry’s Christopher Bailey.
