When Chrissy Teigen and John Legend tied the knot in 2013, the model embraced traditional, capital-B Bridal style, opting for a Vera Wang princess dress with a strapless bodice and an enormous tulle skirt. But when the couple celebrated their 10-year anniversary with a vow renewal in Lake Como, Italy this past weekend, Teigen ran in the opposite direction.

Teigen—who actually sported three Vera Wang looks at her 2013 wedding—outdid herself for her vow renewal weekend, wearing a series of colorful, decidedly unmatrimonial dresses.

For her rehearsal dinner, Teigen looked straight out of Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette in a silver and blue minidress by Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika, which she paired with a pair of blue lace-up square-toe heels. The dress—with its fitted bodice, flared yet structured skirt, and eye-catching embellishments—was a strong start to the celebratory weekend.

The couple arrived at their venue with their four children—Luna, Miles, Esti, and Wren—by boat. The two celebrated their 10-year milestone at the Villa Pizzo, where they originally tied the knot. It was for this recommitment that saw Teigen’s biggest break from bridal fashion. Instead of something expected, she opted for a black lace Zuhair Murad couture dress. The sheer, floor-length number featured a ruffled shoulder and wrist, as well as an open back. “Find yourself a live like theirs,” friend Nicole Fasolino wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of Legend serenading his wife at the piano (featuring the couple’s eldest son, Miles).

For the actual ceremony, Teigen changed out of her daring lace look into a more glamorous dress. She wore a black dress with an empire waist and a sliver of a creme, sweetheart neckline—the only hint of bridal in her look. The floor-length number was embellished with a magnificent black train covered in rosettes, which matched her off-the-shoulder straps. She accessorized the look with a black, padded headband by Jennifer Behr. Legend, for his part, looked dapper in a white tuxedo jacket with black lapels, matching his beloved’s black-and-white theme.

At Villa Passalacqua, the couple s nearest and dearest enjoyed a poolside after party. Teigen closed out the joyous weekend in a voluminous Christopher John Rogers strawberry dress. Between her bright color palette of neon green and buttercup yellow, and Legend s floral short set, it feels like spring is in the air (even when we’re inching into fall).
