Thus far, Dakota Johnson has only turned to method dressing on one occasion during her Madame Web press tour—with the beaded cobweb dress and matching hood from Annie’s Ibiza that she wore to the Vogue Carnival Ball in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While a marathon of promotion is the perfect opportunity for actors to give their characters a last hurrah, Johnson has by and large stuck to her low-maintenance, funky personal style.
This morning was no different. Johnson left her New York City hotel to film a segment on The TODAY Show in an outfit that felt true to form. Styled by Kate Young, she wore a tomato red set from Carolina Herrera’s pre-fall 2024 collection: a short-sleeved knit turtleneck coordinated with flowing, wide-legged pleated pants. Despite the near-freezing temperatures, she eschewed closed-toed shoes in favor of a pair of wooden platform sandals, underscoring the set’s ’70s vibe. Thankfully, Johnson came prepared for the frigid weather, bundling up with a chocolatey leather coat.
Continuing the retro look, Johnson accessorized with a pair of her staple oversized sunglasses, donning rectangular frames with brown lenses. A demonstrated fan of Bottega Veneta’s intrecciato weaving, she swapped her Hop and Andiamo bags for a mustard colored Sardine.
With one more week until the film’s premiere, we’re eager to see the rest of the looks that Dakota Johnson has her sleeve. You could say we’re caught in her web.
