After a summer of bedazzled bodysuits for stage, a suite of teeny bikinis for every tour stop, and sheer dresses in every variation possible, Dua Lipa is slowly embracing fall dressing.
The pop star has spent the last few days in New York performing a string of shows at Madison Square Gardens. (Last night, she brought out Nile Rodgers to perform “Le Freak”). She’s also kept herself busy in the day, repping her new role as founder and creative director at the at-home reformer pilates workout company Frame, and greeting fans at a Radical Optimism pop-up.
Photographed yesterday out and about in New York pre-show, Lipa wore a black tank top and black straight-leg leather pants with silver buckle detailing, black stilettos with a tortoiseshell heel, a Tom Ford double T leather shoulder bag held like a clutch, and angular black sunglasses. The final accessory? A green juice.
It’s a surefire signal that summer is officially over. when the summer vacation photo dumps start to peter out, and Lipa puts on her most sensible pair of pants.
Transeasonal dressing, the Dua Lipa way, means our vacanza queen keeps some elements of her lithe and glittery summer style however. Also this week, Lipa wore a full look from Gucci’s fall 2025 collection—an interim offering as the creative directorship changes over from Sabato de Sarno to Demna. Lipa wore a gray short-sleeved polo in brushed mohair, and a satsuma orange sequin slip skirt with 3D florals. Lipa then paired it with silver bamboo heel pumps and an iced coffee. (She’s a certified iced coffee all year round girl). Other recent looks include a monochromatic, Manhattan girl ensemble with a black polka dot blouse, bootcut jeans, and a boho chic heart-shaped Chloé bag, and a saucier shirt and peekaboo styling trick with a black bra.
With temperatures set to cool, you’d expect Dua Lipa to be shuffling her wardrobe to breakout her selection of chic outerwear and tailored looks (the Ferragamo! The Gucci! The Saint Laurent!) But lo! Lipa will soon embark on tour dates spread across the West Coast and South America, and so her Jacquemus gowns and itsy bitsy bikinis still have time to earn their keep. It’s a Dua Lipa summer all year round.
