The press tour for A Complete Unknown is officially underway. Yesterday, the cast—regrettably sans Timothée Chalamet—gathered in London for a screening of the Bob Dylan biopic, where Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro delivered very different takes on their leading lady style.

Fanning, who plays Sylvie Russo, filled Chalamet’s void in a masculine Bottega Veneta suit from the resort 2025 collection. She opted for a boxy gray double-breasted blazer and matching trousers over an ecru-and-red plaid button-up, which peaked out from underneath the jacket’s hem. Styled by Samantha McMillen, she added a pair of chunky black loafers with gold hardware.

Barbaro, who stepped into Joan Baez’s shoes in the film, opted for a more ladylike premiere look. Styled by Jeanann Williams, the actor wore a sweet, empire-waisted LBD from Nina Ricci’s spring 2025 runway. The minidress was outfitted with a black bow across her chest, which created a cutout effect. Barbaro added a pair of sheer black tights and black pointy-toe pumps.

Together, Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro already make for a dynamic duo. Who needs a man? (Sorry, Timothée!)
