Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is the latest Hollywood blockbuster to be making its premiere rounds. The leading cast—including Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, and Oscar Isaac—are traveling around the globe to promote the new film, which releases on Netflix on November 7. Last night in New York, Elordi stopped by the Jimmy Fallon show to continue the tour, where he discussed portraying the iconic monster (and also gave hints about what to expect for Euphoria season three). His choice of knitwear? It was the perfect nod to method dressing.
Elordi wore a Frankenstein-themed sweater from Christopher Kane’s fall 2013 collection, and paired it with classic pieces including black dress pants and loafers. For his press tour, Elordi has been sticking to sleek Bottega Veneta suits (giving very much movie star) but the kitschy knitwear proved that he’s willing to get a little fun and method with his dressing. The eerie, black and white knitwear paid homage to his film in a casual, nonchalant way.
Elordi isn’t the only star to get on board with thematic fashion, either. His co-star Mia Goth has been embracing method dressing on the red carpets in her own chic way—choosing refined, but decidedly moody, looks that channel the dark, romantic vibe of the movie. But with his perfect little sweater, Elordi opted for a low-effort, but high-impact touch that was a total hit. Plus, given it is more than a decade old, he and his stylists duo Wendi Nicole clearly did their research. A star always gets bonus points for dipping into the archives.
