When it comes to her off-duty style, Jennifer Lawrence is all about easy, breezy fashion. The star, who’s notoriously private and low-key, is often spied in the wild wearing baggy jeans, a baseball cap and a pair of flat shoes (she’s a fan of Adidas Sambas, an It-girl favourite). But on closer inspection, fashion fans can always clock the discreet-yet-chic additions that make her a street-style star.
While spending US Mother’s Day with her parents in the Big Apple over the weekend, the Hunger Games actor was spotted wearing a white T-shirt and slouchy cargo pants from Leset (this throwback trouser trend is having a moment), a white button-up shirt tied around her waist, and a floppy bucket hat. J Law topped it all off with smart black accessories: oval frame Alaïa sunglasses, a Slouchy Banana calfskin leather shoulder bag from The Row (perhaps her favourite brand, founded by her friends Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen), and a pair of flat leather sandals.
Making a stealth fashion statement on her days off is Lawrence’s MO – it’s all about the details of her shoes and accessories. Previously, the star was seen upping her stroller-chic style game in a simple outfit of cable knit jumper, Mets cap and leggings. However, her nondescript leather Ozzy slippers from The Row marked her out as a fashion girl.
For date night? Last Friday, the actor enjoyed an intimate dinner with her gallerist husband wearing a vintage Gianni Versace floral sun dress (which she previously wore last summer) that was completed with a vivid green JW Anderson Bumper bag, brown suede The Row sandals, and a vintage Christian Dior pendant necklace. Lawrence’s styling trick is to always add chic – and occasionally surprising – accessories to elevate her off-duty looks.
