Anyone who’s stumbled into fashion TikTok over the past several months has surely come across seasonal analysis, which designates people into each of the four seasons based on their hair, eye, and skin color. Palmer is embracing her inner autumn today in New York—and in archival Dolce Gabbana, no less.
Palmer stopped by Good Morning America to promote her latest film, One of Them Days—which costars SZA—in a burnt orange satin boatneck dress hailing from the Italian house’s spring 2007 collection and sourced from vintage outpost Opulent Addict. The metallic knee-length dress was cinched with a corseted panel around her waist and featured both a zipper, belt, and lace-up detail in the back.
While Palmer’s dark orange dress matched her flowing copper hair, she played with analogous colors to accessorize. Styled by Zoe Costello, Palmer bundled up in a full-length fluffy bubblegum coat (a summer color to counterbalance her autumnal dress), added a pair of burgundy Saint Laurent pointy-toe pumps with gold hardware on the vamp, and a white Lady Dior bag. Leaving the studio, Palmer changed into another brightly colored outfit: a seafoam green tweed suit from Dior’s fall 1998 collection, sourced from Tab Vintage, with a furry collar and a white Chloé bag with the name emblazoned in gold hardware.
Not only were the actor’s outfits a masterclass in vintage and color theory, but also a welcome update to last winter’s “mob wife” trend. While this time last year we were inundated with vampy looks, Keke Palmer is injecting some much-needed color into a dreary winter day.
