If low-rise pants have one fan, it’s Kim Kardashian. The Skims founder grabbed coffee in her native Calabasas today wearing a pair of noughties-appropriate bottoms.
Kardashian was spotted heading toward her Maybach wearing floor-grazing black leather pants with a red-and-white racing stripe down the sides of each leg. While her body-con bottoms had an exposed four-button closure, they still landed below her belly button. She accentuated her midriff-baring look with a cropped white tee, possibly from her own Skims collection. She accessorized her coffee run ‘fit with a pair of black pointy-toed leather boots and a mini Hermès Kelly purse in black alligator—a bag with a resale value of upwards of $90,000. (That said, Kim is listing another mini Kelly in suede on the family’s resale website, Kardashian Kloset, for a mere $30k.) The usually done-up Kardashian kept her hair in a bun and makeup to a minimum—this was a low-key coffee run, after all.
Low-rise pants aren’t going anywhere if the Kardashian-Jenner family has anything to do with it. Earlier this year, Kylie Jenner said: “When I need a boost of confidence, I love low-rise pants.” Since then, she’s walked the walk, wearing low-slung black yoga pants with a Skims crop top. Perhaps her older sister Kim is taking a cue from her fashion playbook.
