With Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos’s wedding taking place in Venice this weekend, one detail in particular has already drawn plenty of attention: the bride’s engagement ring.
While Sánchez has worn plenty of dazzling jewels over the course of the blowout celebrations, none could top her sizable engagement ring she was given by Bezos the summer of 2023, when he proposed to the journalist on their superyacht, Koru. (Except, perhaps, the large wedding band now added to the stack on her ring finger).

All the Details of Lauren Sánchez’s Engagement Ring
At first glance, it’s easy to see that Lauren Sánchez’s engagement ring is a cushion-cut stone. However, the journalist revealed in an interview with Vogue that the center stone is actually a rare pink diamond with a slight rose tone to the gem. While she didn’t state the carat weight of her diamond ring, jewelers have estimated that the large ring might actually be a whopping 30 carats.
As for the setting of the diamond ring, the sizable gemstone is held up on a thin, cathedral-style pavé band. The stone is also secured on each side by four prongs. The diamond pavé band is likely set in platinum to support the weight of the stones and wraps around the bride-to-be’s finger. To offer an extra hint of glimmer, the ring is accented with two pavé hidden halos that help support the large stone alongside the thin band.
How Much Did Lauren Sánchez’s Engagement Ring Cost?
While the exact cost of the diamond is unknown, jewelry expert Briony Raymond estimated that the price of Lauren Sánchez’s engagement ring could range between $3 million and $5 million. “The diamond appears to be extremely white; based on a clarity commensurate with such a high color grade, I would estimate the cost for such an extraordinary ring to be anywhere from $3 million to upwards of $5 million depending on the exact specifications of the diamond,” the jeweler previously told People. The exact rarity and GIA grading of the 30-carat pink diamond would determine the fluctuation in the price tag.
How Did Jeff Bezos Propose to Lauren Sánchez?
The couple got engaged in May 2023 while traveling on Bezos’s three-masted superyacht, Koru. The Amazon founder hid the ring under Sánchez’s pillow after the two shared a dinner under the stars. Sánchez told Vogue that she found the ring when heading to bed after she had removed her makeup for the night. “When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit,” she said. In the interview, Sánchez revealed that she also plans to change her name after the wedding. “I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos,” she shared. Reflecting on taking on his name, Sánchez said, “I think there are a lot of opportunities that come with that, and I take those opportunities very seriously. We always look at each other and go, ‘We’re the team.’ So everything’s shared.”
As for their wedding plans, the couple kicked off festivities with a return to Bezos’s yacht Koru for a foam party in Croatia. The ensuing wedding celebrations have occured in the Italian city throughout the weekend of June 27. In lieu of gifts, the couple’s invitation revealed they have requested their guests contribute a donation to the UNESCO Venice Office, CORILA to preserve Venice’s lagoons, and the Venice International University to support sustainable research. Their celebrations were also catered to predominately by local vendors from Venice, according to AP.
