President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump made a surprise appearance at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup today, held at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. (Not to be confused with the FIFA World Cup soccer tournament, the FIFA Club World Cup serves a a global contest between club teams.) The Trumps were on hand to watch Paris Saint-Germain face off against Chelsea.
Earlier in the day, the president and first lady travelled up to New Jersey from their Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster to watch the affair, which is estimated to have over 80,000 spectators. Keeping a low fashion profile, the first lady chose a simple look: She sported a white tee tucked into a knee-length skirt, and finished off the look with a navy blazer. She accessorized with bold, wide-framed white sunglasses by Christian Dior.
Her discreet choice of a suit jacket was coordinated to match the navy suit worn by President Trump. (Together, they often present a united front through their clothing choices.) Notably, the sporting even today falls on the one-year anniversary of the failed assassination attempt on the president.
On Friday, meanwhile, the president and first lady toured the devastation across Texas Hill Country, which suffered severe floods on July 4th. Trump paired the bracelet—a charm style gifted to her from the Hotze family—with a khaki anorak jacket, hunter-green trousers, a black baseball cap, and Converse sneakers.
"We just met with the wonderful families. We prayed with them," the first lady said in a statement. "They shared their stories, and I met beautiful young ladies who gave me this special bracelet from the camp in honor of all the little girls who lost their lives. We are here to honor them and also to give support and help."
