Last night at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards, Miley Cyrus was among those honored, accepting an award for her song on the Avatar: Fire and Ash soundtrack. While Cyrus is certainly in her most confident and mature style era yet, her hair told a more fun and nostalgic story—hello, Hannah Montana.

The pop star walked the red carpet in a sleek, slim-fit black Tom Ford spring 2026 suit, which featured a navel-grazing plunging neckline and scarf detail—so far, so very modern Miley Cyrus. Her blonde hair with soft dark roots (color by Jacob Schwartz, the go-to colorist for every it-girl blonde) was set in chest-length waves with undulating layers and curtain bangs parted in the middle—more Ms. Montana. Rock star styling, as usual, was by Bobby Elliot. Is a very recently engaged Cyrus feeling a little reflective? Whoa, whoa, oh…Yeah.

Cyrus—who played the Disney character for five years on the TV series and subsequent movie—has been teasing big plans for the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana. Speaking on Good Morning America back in December, she said “a lot” of her time has been dedicated to planning something special. “How can I honor Hannah in such a special celebration for us all?” she said. “I’m excited to celebrate her.” Stay tuned.

From that iconic blonde wig with heavy bangs to southern belle Miley Stewart’s brunette curls and beyond, the fearless Miley Cyrus has never been afraid of a beauty transformation. Who could forget her first major crop and pixie cut? She’s sported bleached brows and a micro-fringe (which she cut in between the Oscars ceremony and the Vanity Fair party!), a Dolly Parton-esque bouffant, a feathery Stevie Nicks-inspired shag, and total rock goddess blowouts. Change your hair, change your life is an adage of Cyrus’s, through her many, mega eras.

The rest of her glam was pretty signature, executed by her go-to MUA Janice Daoud—grungy smoky eyes and a glossed nude lip, with a nude manicure to let her engagement ring take center stage.

And so, Cyrus collected the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award for her new song “Dream As One” (which features in James Cameron’s blockbuster movie Avatar: Fire and Ash) in not-so-secret-anymore rock star style.
