Even though most of the world remembers Moby for his Y2K forays into pop, like his collaboration with Gwen Stefani in 2000 for the song “South Side,” the artist has actually been making electronic music since the early nineties. On December 16, Moby will be reissuing the very limited Hotel: Ambient, which was a bonus disc to his 2005 album, Hotel, and has more in common with the early electronic work of his youth than the glitzier music that brought him TRL levels of fame later on. Take a listen to “Swear,” a nearly seven-minute-long ambient song that is as pop-free as it is pleasurable.
