In these dark, frosty days of winter, it’s only natural to be dreaming of your next vacation—and in 2026, there’s a wealth of new hotels to stay at, opening their doors on (nearly) every continent. Antarctica is a little tricky, but we do have the next best thing: In October, Silversea will finally open The Cormorant at 55 South in Puerto Williams, Chile—the world’s southernmost city, and the gateway to the Great White South.

Elsewhere, there’s a spate of hotels opening across Italy—highlights include the Orient Express Venezia, housed in a powder-pink 15th-century palace in Venice, and Castel Badia in the Dolomites, a region set to capture the world’s attention when the Winter Olympics kick off in February—as well as in some further-flung corners of Europe, such as the innovative new wellness retreat Eha in Estonia and the super-stylish Casa Bonavita in Malta, a centuries-old family home renovated by the founders of The Rug Company.

And there’s plenty to keep your eye on Stateside, too: the beloved Auberge Collection is opening The Knox in Dallas, theatrically decorated by Martin Brudnizki, while the cult uber-luxury hotel group Aman will be landing in Mexico for the first time with their intimate, 18-key resort Amanvari in Baja California. Whether you are seeking inspiration for your next getaway, or simply want to indulge in some vicarious wanderlust during these cold, winter nights, you’ll be spoilt for choice with Vogue’s pick of the 44 most exciting hotels opening in 2026.

Next summer marks the arrival of La Réserve Firenze: the Italian debut of Michel Reybier Hospitality, the group behind the beloved La Réserve outposts in Paris, Geneva, and Ramatuelle. Set within a 15th-century palazzo on the historic Via Santo Spirito, the hotel is set to be an intimate sanctuary, featuring just six private apartments adorned with original frescoes and sweeping views of the Arno. Guests can expect the elevated amenities of a classic palace hotel—including dedicated concierges, a gym, and a delightful rooftop terrace—but with the feeling of living in your very own Florentine residence. — Liam Hess

As Auberge Collection’s first UK hotel, Cambridge House is set to become one of London’s buzziest social hubs when it opens in spring 2026. Formerly the residence of the Duke of Cambridge, the Georgian landmark is being reimagined by interior designer Jean-Louis Deniot into a 102-room retreat. Situated between Green Park and Shepherd Market, the property will house a private members’ club designed by Laura Gonzalez, as well as the theatrical Major’s Grill, a collaboration with Major Food Group, the team behind Carbone. Framed by perfumed Mediterranean gardens in the historic village of Attard, this new opening in the heart of Malta is set to be one of Europe’s most stylish new hotels. Over the past five years, they have meticulously restored this centuries-old family house into a restorative haven featuring a convivial “house kitchen” and a dedicated wellness sanctuary. Located just 20 minutes from Valletta, Casa Bonavita is all about honoring the rhythms of traditional Mediterranean living, shaped by Suzanne’s own childhood on the island. —L.H.

In one of the year’s most unique openings, Eha Retreat—a beacon of Nordic wellness set on Estonia’s unspoilt Hiiumaa Island, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve—will open its doors in summer 2026. Designed by architect Tiit Trummal to harmonize with the Baltic wilderness, the retreat will feature just eight suites and three forest cabins blending organic textures and contemporary minimalism. The entire experience is guided by the island’s unique “five-season” rhythm, with programs ranging from thermal rituals in the expansive spa to foraging sessions led by wellness director Kai Laus. Meanwhile, the culinary offering looks equally thoughtful, with Green Michelin Star chef Peeter Pihel crafting menus that celebrate the restorative power of the forest. — L.H.

Holiday-making on France’s Île de Bendor–between Marseille and Saint Tropez–was originally the midcentury dream of the aperitif pioneer Paul Ricard (sort of like the way Britain’s Colin Tennant set his eyes on Mustique, in the Caribbean). The privately owned Mediterranean island is now set to reopen its ports to the world after a five-year closure as Zannier Île de Bendor. With 93 keys across three distinct lodging types, the destination will also be home to a holistic wellness spa, a beach club (naturally), a diving center, and eight different dining spots. With so few rooms and so many on-site options, it’s bound to feel like a private even at full capacity. — Nick Remsen

The recently revived Orient Express brand—whose new era kicked off last year with the opening of a hotel in Rome and a luxury sleeper train crisscrossing Italy—will enter a new chapter of Venetian glamour within a 15th-century palace in the city’s charming Cannareggio district. Following an eight-year restoration by architect Aline Asmar d’Amman, the palazzo—once home to the Duke of Urbino—is set to be a masterclass in dramatic décor. Behind the historic façade will lie 47 sumptuously appointed rooms and suites, featuring ancient frescoes, finely carved wood paneling, and vibrant colored mirrors. A real design gem, situated in an underexplored corner of the city. — L.H.

This 1870s hunting lodge has been sensitively restored by interior experts Cecile Boyd, featuring a cluster of stone cottages and a communal hub known as the Clachan. The legendary Hilton-owned brand will see its ribbon-cutting at Admiralty Arch, with 100 rooms and a handful of residences, too. The location is among the best in the English capital, at least when it comes to all things Britannia: it sits at the direct opposite end of The Mall to Buckingham Palace, and features views towards Trafalgar Square. Following a four-year restoration stewarded by Iwan and Manuela Wirth and designed by the architect Luis Laplace, Chesa Marchetta will open its doors on January 2 in Switzerland’s Engadin Valley—long a hideaway for writers, thinkers, and winter athletes alike. Three dining venues by Chef Carlo Cracco—as well as a cozy spa—complement the intimate, urbane experience. The extensive wellness program here is rooted in its history, too; the former monastic cells now house treatment rooms, and the restored Apothekergarten informs the spa’s rituals. Opened at the end of 2025, Casa Renoir is a rural estate in Australia’s Noosa Hinterland, inland from the beach, with 40 acres of hills, olive groves, and citrus trees. Stay in one of their villas (six new ones are coming in 2026), some of which feature private pools, or enjoy a dip in the property’s natural swimming pool, which features a cascading rock waterfall. — A.G.L.
