Mother’s Day has always meant so much to me–it’s all about big love and appreciation. It’s a day where I think of my own mother, a woman who inspired me and set me on the path I’m on today, her creative spirit sparking my own, and all the moms out there who work tirelessly to bring joy and support to their loved ones.
For me, motherhood has been a rebirth of self and an endless learning experience–my children have taught me so many lessons. They’ve instilled in me the importance of stopping and cherishing the moment, to take time and make time. They broaden my horizons, sharing music and culture with me in ways I never expected–especially introducing me to the wide world of sports as both a fan and a participant. Most importantly, they share their opinions, enriching my worldview with their perspectives even when we disagree. Everyday they impact how I carry myself and inspire me to think outside of the box.
As moms, our kids are our entire world, and I know first hand how much energy it takes to take care of yourself while caring for your family, friends, and career.
As an expression of gratitude, Mother’s Day is a moment for families to take the load off moms’ shoulders and cherish them for all they do for their families. It’s a day for quality family time, self care, and yes, gift giving.
