Yesterday, the highly anticipated spring 2026 Chanel show took place during Paris Fashion Week. The presentation marked Matthieu Blazy’s debut as creative director of the French house, and loads of A-list stars came out in support of this new chapter. Ayo Edebiri, Margot Robbie, Penélope Cruz, Pedro Pascal, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Nicole Kidman all sat front row—dressed in Chanel, of course.
Kidman—who has long turned to Chanel for red carpet looks, especially during the Karl Lagerfeld days—was announced as an official ambassador of the label; a homecoming of sorts for the former face of the Chanel No. 5 fragrance. The Oscar-winning actor attended the show with her two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith, and embraced classic French style for the occasion.
Kidman also allowed Vogue inside her exciting show day, to document her full getting-ready process in a new video. “I’m very excited for Matthieu, because this is a big moment for him,” Kidman told Vogue as she glammed at the Peninsula Paris yesterday. “To be able to celebrate him, with his first show, is exciting.”
Styled by Jason Bolden, the actor wore a crisp white button-up shirt and wide-leg jeans, embodying a casual, effortless aesthetic. French style, after all, is all about looking chic in the most nonchalant way. “It’s very chic and simple, and understated in a way—but luxe,” Kidman said of the look. “I never could have imagined [wearing] cashmere jeans.” Still, Kidman’s low-key ensemble included some elevated touches. Her shirt was embroidered with a subtle red Chanel logo, and she carried an oxblood-hued quilted flap bag.
In the video, makeup artist Gucci Westman and hair stylist Adir Abergel also get to work on crafting a natural, perfectly-undone beauty look for the star. For a Hollywood actor that is known for glamorous, glitzy red carpet gowns, this streamlined end result marked a new era for both Kidman and Chanel. Does this mean that we’ll start seeing her in denim on the step and repeat? Doubtful, but for Paris Fashion Week—and her big Chanel news—it was a refreshing switch-up. “It feels like coming home,” says Kidman of the new beginning. “Matthieu brings his own essence to the house, so I’m excited to be on this journey with him.”
