It should come as no surprise that Liza Laserow Berglund is a self-described material nerd. The co-founder of Swedish textile brand Nordic Knots has built a sterling reputation for delivering impeccable quality at an accessible price point. Together with her husband Fabian and his brother Felix, the three launched the company in 2016 and have since amassed a global fanbase for their assortment of rugs—and, more recently, curtains.
Now, nearly a decade after its beginnings, the label marks a new chapter with the introduction of Nordic Knots Home: a collection of textiles for the home. “We felt like it was time for us to build an entire room with what we think are the perfect textiles and the perfect, I would say, ‘uniform’ for a room,” Laserow Berglund tells Vogue over the phone from Stockholm. The new collection centers around the bed, and includes two headboard styles, bed linens, cushions, as well as a selection of throws and bedspreads.
This concept of a room’s uniform is plucked from both her personal spaces and wardrobe. “I always dress our bedrooms in one color,” she says, explaining that this approach creates the best backdrop to then add in layers. “I also only dress in black and white, but then I’ll add something like jewelry or a sweater around the shoulders, and that’s a little bit how I think about the bedroom—unify in one color, and then layer with maybe an accent pillow or nightstands in a certain type of wood, and then you get a really strong personality to come through in the room.”
At the heart of the collection—and the entire brand for that matter—is a dedication to quality. “When I lived in New York, I spent Sundays along Madison Avenue walking into all of the designer stores and feeling the fabrics,” she adds. “I’m super, super sensitive to anything that you need to touch every day.” So much so, in fact, that when the team was developing fabric for their curtains collection, she recalls standing in the mill and rubbing the wool against her cheek. “The Italian guys were just looking at me like, ‘This woman is crazy,’ but that’s how soft it needs to be,” she says, with a laugh.
The same level of precision applies to this latest collection. The percale bedding is made from 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton in four hues, while the sateen is spun from pure Egyptian cotton and comes in three neutral colorways. “We really work with fabric mills that are the best at what they do,” she says. “There are no synthetic materials at all—it’s all natural fibers of either cotton or wool or linen.”
When dreaming up this new collection, Laserow Berglund’s imagination drifted back to New York City, where she and her husband lived for around 12 years before relocating to Sweden. “I was super inspired by a Donna Karan apartment,” she says. “It’s a proper New York apartment with a very monochrome interior. For me, New York is still the best place in the world to find interiors. I mean, I think New York apartments from the ’80s and ’90s are the best ones.”
But despite her affinity for a subdued color scheme, Nordic Knots has also become known for its palette of intriguing hues. “Colors offer a lot of character, and when it comes to the home, I love to layer color,” she says, while offering a caveat: it can never take over when you place it in the room. Take the burnt red Cashmere Heritage Throw from the new collection as an example. “If the red is too sharp, that s the only thing you will see in a room. I really want it to be soft to the eye and blend well with whatever color you combine with it.”
The team launched with a collection of 65 pieces, with the intention of introducing seasonal edits and curated updates throughout the year. “When it comes to building the collection, it’s really about curation. Like, curating it hard,” she says. This strategy comes through in the headboard edit (there are just a couple to begin). “These two shapes are really what I feel is what you need as a starter,” she explains. The signature has a classic, clean shape with a straight line and rounded corners, while the crown is a bit curvier and offers what she describes as a “timeless romantic shape.”
The assortment of blankets and bedspreads includes a throw crafted from a blend of wool and cashmere, ideal for draping over a sofa or at the end of the bed. The Studio Linen Bedspread is made from pure Spanish linen in a dense weave. And as a nod to the brand’s heritage as a Scandinavian rug company, their Square Kelim Bedspread incorporates the signature hand-woven pattern of their square rug. “It s obviously way more soft than the rug, but it’s a little bit of a playful wink,” she explains.
The cushions, she shares, are like the cherry on top. For these, the team brought in a couple of more vibrant prints: a leopard and a floral. “To me, leopard is pretty much a neutral,” she says. “Honey Rose is our first floral and is a bit of an homage to ’80s florals that feel worn and washed and sat on for decades.”
When we speak, Laserow Berglund had given birth to twins just four weeks prior, and is also in the middle of working on the fall/winter 2026 collection. Full steam ahead, you might say. “Designing and developing our own textiles has always been a dream of mine,” she says. “Really good fabrics are often hidden and kept secret from the regular client, and I want to be able to give our customers access to that.”
