Fresh off of releasing her second (and very good) studio album, Guts, Olivia Rodrigo has been making her press rounds to promote the new record. The pop-grunge singer shared a look inside some of her festivities on Instagram this weekend—and we were instantly struck by her choice of outfit. Her cropped white button-up shirt and golden sequin mini skirt looked, well, familiar. That’s because the rare items happen to be from an iconic ’90s designer collection that’s been going viral on TikTol recently, thanks to its incredibly-on-trend clothes and the over-the-top model walks from supers Shalom Harlow and Amber Valletta.
The pieces are from Todd Oldham’s spring 1995 collection. The designer ruled and defined the era, thanks to his shows’ fun, sexy, upbeat clothes, excellent casting choices, and theatrical vibes. The spring 1995 show is one of his best, and TikTok can’t get enough of the moment where Harlow campily overtakes Valletta on the runway (the clip has popped up on our feeds relentlessly). Somehow, Rodrigo scored the white top that Harlow wears in the clip, and the skirt Valletta wears. Turns out, her stylist Jared Ellner got Todd Oldham himself to loan them. Now that’s a flex.
Listen to Olivia Rodrigo talk to Vogue about her vintage finds on this episode of The Run-Through here.
