Ex Novo. Digestioni a catena is part of the program of the side events taking place during the PhotoVogue Festival.
The Art Side department of the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia presents "Ex Novo. Chain Digestions," an interdisciplinary project conceived by photographer Giuseppe Laera and artist Luigi Notarnicola. Through various stimuli, this project guides the exploration of a process aimed at assimilating and reinterpreting cultural proposals, particularly focusing on reflecting on the identity of the human being and how culture makes them unique.
The exhibition delves into the delicate transition occurring between the act of creativity and its assimilation by the audience. This process is not always immediate and obvious but, in this showcase, becomes an artwork in itself. The exhibition proposal carries out a true "practice" that transforms the consumer of creative work into a transmitter of content through personal elaboration, which, in some cases, leads into a transfiguration of the message before it is even presented to the audience.
“Ex Novo. Digestioni a catena” undertakes a similarity between nourishment through culture and digestion as a biological process in which the chain of nutritional principles in food are broken down in order to create energy.
Giuseppe Laera and Luigi Notarnicola investigate into Antonio Tagliarini s performance "Un andatura un po storta ed esuberante. Emersione n.1," first presented at the Lazzaretto Foundation as part of the FOG Festival - Triennale Teatro Milano. They offer their interpretation through photography, video, installations, and sounds capable of crafting a visual narrative that outlines its symbolic core.
